Rat dissection

As part of the physiology component of the course I'm doing I have to dissect a rat. Well, actually since we got in late we got to dissect a mouse instead. Not much difference there if you ask me, well, except for a rat is 5 times bigger than the tiny mouse we got and the rat is standard lab rat which means they're all white and pretty and all.

What's good about rat dissection? Nothing. What's so bad? The smell. It smelt like something rotten. Really rotten. The weird thing is you don't smell it all the time, just when you use something to poke at the gut of the mouse. Maybe it's the way the mouse revenge?
